Tools of the trade.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, x86, 64GB RAM (2019)

    It's not a studio, but it'll do.

  • PD3220U|32-inch 4K UHD P3 Thunderbolt 3 Mac® Compatible Designer Monitor

One cable to rule them all. Great color, well made, and tons of screen real estate.

  • Keychron K4 Keyboard

I have gone through a lot of keyboards. This one is the best I've found. It's got a great feel, and the bluetooth connection is solid. I've had it for a year and a half and it's still going strong.

  • Logitech MX Master 3

Best mouse I've ever used. Comfortable, precise, and the battery lasts forever.

  • Herman Miller Aeron Chair

I bought this chair used 10 years ago and it's holding up well. I recently switched to a standing desk for most of the day

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

The last editor I'll ever need.

  • iTerm2

I've tried others, but keep coming back to it.

  • Beekeeper Studio

For lightweight database work and ad-hoc querying.

Diagramming

  • Excalidraw

Best tool for quickly sketching out diagrams.

  • Mermaid

When the diagrams need to be committed with the codebase, mermaid is my go-to.

Productivity

  • Raycast

Spotlight replacement that gets things done.

  • Moom / Magnet

Better window management for macOS. Might sunset these if I get my Raycast workflow to a good spot
